Before I Forget

We took today off for a quick trip to St. Louis for a secret project that we are working on and both PJPs just excelled like we didn’t even exist. It was super impressive and now that we’ve taken a few Mondays off, I’ve acclimated enough to not stress or be overly dramatic about a day away - so basically, I’m progressing as a human. And look, it only took eight and a half years.

All that said, we did work straight through the weekend and were at both PJP Nifong and PJP West yesterday. So it may be that I was more tired this morning than making psychological progress as an entrepreneur, but there’s no way to know for sure.

Here’s what else is going on:

  1. Don’t kid yourself if you don’t think I maximized our time in St. Louis around our project plans. I returned a shirt to Anthropologie, visited Nordstrom Rack, took Jeanne for her first Costco visit, and then made dash through Trader Joe’s before she wore out with us.

  2. And if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: THIS TOWN NEEDS A COSTCO AND A TRADER JOE’S. I know that the Nordstrom Rack is just a dream that would cause the city council members to fall off their chairs with laughter, so I won’t even get my hopes up. Why have quality shopping when we can have mattress stores and credit unions?

  3. We partnered with VU and we provided the dessert to thousands of people on Friday night, twice Saturday, and Sunday afternoon at their annual camp out. At their request, we provided nine-inch pies and sliced them into eight slices. I was dreading that part a bit, but as it turns out, my whisking forearms came in clutch and Jeanne and I cut them just as fast as Team PJP could box them.

  4. Though, when Jeanne and Jason delivered to the mid-day Saturday event, they stopped on the way back into town and looked at storage shed options. Jeanne’s idea is to buy a big shed and put it at our house and fill it with all of our boxes and bags. Jason’s feeling is that he will spend his time going in his truck between our house and both PJPs multiple times a week. My feeling is that for $14,000, I’d rather put a down payment on a pool.

  5. Oh, and before I forget, I can promise I won’t be floating around in a pool at my house on the 4th of July holiday weekend…but we can be enjoying an American flag White Chocolate Strawberry pie that weekend. We sold a ton last year, but only by pre-order and we added it to the menu this weekend, so order soon!
