Jeanne-ology: Don't Spring Forward.
Hi There - it’s Thursday and Jeanne just surprised me by texting that she had emailed me tonight’s blog post. I didn’t expect her to write it at all because we have been exceptionally busy this week and I know she is flat worn out from all of our hard work. I am super curious about her take on the past four days. Enjoy! Rebecca

Hello Thursday readers! Another week passed and we are closer to spring! I do have to admit the time change this week has been difficult for me. I am positive every one else feels the same. I am ready to sign any petition to send to our state representatives to stop this nonsense. I have NEVER met anyone who is in favor of daylight savings time. I really don't care if Missouri chooses to permanently spring forward or fall back to keep the time consistent. JUST PICK ONE! Enough is enough. I will end the tirade now about time change and I know that change will probably not come in my lifetime. (Rebecca editing to add: Jeanne for President. I’d vote for her.)
Another thing I am of tired of is the coronavirus. It seems there isn't any other news except for coronavirus! In 2009, we had the swine flu and many people died. Where was all the panic then? I wonder if it was called the coronaflu instead of coronavirus, the media would not have the same reaction. Putting my own opinions aside, Rebecca and I are worried about sales. If customers are scared to venture out of their houses, there will not be a need to be open. This goes for all businesses. And while big box stores can endure periods of slow sales, small businesses can not. All we can do is pray for the best and hope the coronavirus ends soon. Warmer weather will be a gift. (Rebecca editing to add: She’s exceptionally more zen about all this than I am. I’m worried about the virus, about the panic, and the impact on PJP. Though, coronaflu sounds less threatening…I guess.)
At PJP, we have been super busy with large shipping orders for our Jelly Jars pies. Along with a huge tart order today and Pi(e) Day on Saturday, we are running low on energy, but we are determined to make Saturday a huge success. Team PJP is the best. Everyone has put in time and energy to keep us running on schedule. (Rebecca editing to add: Truth. All of it.)
Who knows what will happen next week with so many closings happening. I know that if we are slow, it will be a good time to deep clean and stock up on pot pies and quiches. I say the latter, because people seem to be stocking up and we want to help in any way we can. If Columbia becomes a ghost town with everyone staying in, then I plan to order an enormous amount of toilet paper and other goods from Amazon and binge watch Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime until everything settles down. (Rebecca editing to add: I feel like we will make a lot of pot pie AND quiche AND deep clean, if I know her well. I also know that she is probably making a plan of what she will watch if forced to stay home for an extended period of time. So. Much. Gunsmoke.)
