Good Times
Over the weekend, Ellery and I went to Nashville to see our beloved Jason Isbell perform at the historic Ryman Auditorium. And honestly, it was one of the most fun weekends ever. My current self thanks my past self for raising a child that loves to shop as much as I do and who loves all the same music as I do. We even booked a visit to Lip Lab, where you create your own custom lipsticks and neither of us could have been more content. We drove back yesterday, relishing in the final day off until Thanksgiving Day.
Here’s what is else is going on:
You know what Jason and Jeanne both don’t like to do? Boutique shop and discuss Jason Isbell ad nauseam. They stayed here and ran both PJPs. I do think Jeanne envied the Lip Lab experience though because she has probably spent a cumulative eighteen months of her life searching for the perfect lip color.
All of our shopping took us to the cutest neighborhoods in Nashville and we both always low key considered which, if any, could be excellent future PJP locations. We found a few perfect spots and then I overthought about how that would all work to have stores hours apart. Sometimes I get sick of my own self.
Meanwhile in Columbia, Thanksgiving orders are rolling in at a rapid pace. And that is reassuring and terrifying at the same time.
And our favorite pitted cherries packed in water that we exclusively use have been discontinued. DISCONTINUED. How does that happen? Does the Lucky Leaf factory just be like, “nope, we aren’t doing that now”? So we have to move to Plan B, but we don’t know what Plan B is just yet. Good times.
And finally, Team PJP is expanding in both the morning baking shifts and afternoon team member positions (8am-12pm and 2-6pm, respectfully). In case you haven’t heard, the labor market is tight these days and applications are sparse…so if you know anyone who might be a good fit, send them our way. We offer medical, dental, vision, employee discounts, incessant Jason Isbell conversation if you work with me, and nonstop good times…or at least interesting times, right?
