Housekeeping.

So, after a long holiday weekend, I think we are all more than ready to get back into our routine at PJP tomorrow. That said, I leave early tomorrow morning for the Atlanta Gift Mart in search of new and fun things to sell in our expanded space at PJP Nifong. Our original plan included Jeanne going as well, but PJP Buttonwood feels in transition and we like control, so she is staying put as the captain of the ship.

It has been a hot minute since we’ve caught up, so here are some items of note:

  1. You’ve likely seen by now on Facebook and Instagram that we have been invited to do a pop-up shop at the Williams-Sonoma in the Leawood, Kansas Town Center Plaza on July 20th. We are super excited, as you can’t get more luxe than Williams-Sonoma. We will be sampling and selling tarts from 12-4 that day. Plus, saying that we are doing a pop-up shop makes us feel legit.

  2. We are planning a fun event for next Wednesday, July 17th. We will bake a golden ticket into both a nine-inch pie and a baby pie (don’t worry - just between the pie tin and the crust). The customers that purchase the winning pies will win a free nine-inch pie or a free baby pie for a year. Plus, you’ll use your golden ticket as entrance to a special VIP event that we are hosting in our new store before our grand opening. It is basically like Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, minus the creepy grandpa.

  3. Last week I posted tickets for our final Epic Pie Tasting event in our current location and the tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes. If you missed out, then that just means you might be one of the first at PJP Nifong.

  4. Also, mark your calendars for Sunday, August 11th. We will host a PJP garage sale to sell off all the items that won’t be making the move across the parking lot to the new storefront. You would be astounded to see how much stuff we’ve squirreled away inside PJP Buttonwood, not to mention all sorts of shop decor stowed away in our houses that we’ve tired of. Like all things we do, compiling it all and pricing it all will be last minute, but we promise a good time for all bargain hunters.

  5. And speaking of PJP Nifong, I stopped in today for a few minutes for my regular Monday update. All of the flooring in the baking area is now gone and the only walls to be built have been framed out. Besides adding an area for storage (that isn’t our houses) and an office, we have planned for a room just to make dough. It is a messy process and it is always in the way when we are trying to bake in our current space. And since our dough is what makes us so special, the production deserved a dedicated space. Basically, where the scaffolding sits, imagine a fancy dough room. We can’t wait.
