I'll Keep You Posted
Today, a huge shipment of merchandise purchased during our trip to Atlanta arrived at PJP Nifong. I’ll be the first to admit that we had a lot of fun unpacking all of the boxes and admiring all the super cute stuff. And I’ll also be the first to admit that putting all that merchandise into inventory, pricing it, and rearranging the store to accommodate it all is significantly more work than I would have ever guessed. (And in full disclosure, I brought a few things home for myself and then that required a complete rearrangement of my living room…so all I’ve done all day is unpack stuff, move stuff, and admire stuff. And I’m ok with that.)
Here’s what else is going on:
We were delighted to learn yesterday that we’ve been voted Best Bakery by the Columbia Daily Tribune Reader’s Choice awards. They sent us a lovely certificate and a sticker, which we promptly placed on the front door for everyone to see. Thank you to everyone who voted for PJP and helped push us to first place.
We were also pretty excited to learn our Jelly Jar pies were featured in Celebrity Parents magazine as a must-have for Valentine’s Day. Now every time an online order arrives, I immediately check to see if it is from a celebrity parent. Though, I guess maybe a celebrity would have an assistant order for them, right? Either way, I’ll keep you posted.
And last week, we were interviewed and photographed for Rural Missouri magazine for the March issue. Our houses are both on Boone County Electric instead of city electric, which is good because I’m sure the city electric people are still salty about all my whining about our old utility bills at PJP Buttonwood.
Tomorrow evening is our first Epic Pie Tasting event in our new space. It has been sold out for weeks, though we’ve received at least 30 calls this week to purchase tickets (and February is also sold out). Today someone volunteered to wash dishes for free - or jump out of a plane holding a PJP banner as he sails through the sky - if he could be guaranteed a seat in the March tasting, Honestly, I’ll take the dishwashing.
And finally, Team PJP has worked on some really cute designs for Super Bowl weekend. Summer created a Raspberry Key Lime and Emma worked on adding the Kansas City Chiefs logo to any fruit pie. You can call the store to order or you can order online and leave a note in the comments that you would like the Kansas City Chiefs version. Team PJP never ceases to amaze me with their creativity and skill.
