Maybe
Just because I’ve been quiet for a few weeks, it doesn’t mean nothing interesting here has happened. For the most part, as we get better and better at this, the drama surrounding entrepreneurship decreases…but the interest always remains. I guess what I’m saying is that when we receive a bill for our share of $40,000 for parking lot sweeping from Stan Kroenke, I’m not even surprised, but I’m still irritated.
Here’s a round up:
PJP West turned two on February 12th and true to our nature, there was little ceremony. West is a true delight and has grown so much since opening in 2022, but I’m terrible at marking occasions and it felt awkward to be “yay us, store #2 is #2!” I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
And PJP as an entity will turn TEN on April 17th. To do nothing in that case does seem fairly outrageous because such a small percentage of small businesses make it to their 10th anniversary. But I don’t know what one does in this sort of situation. Most solutions - a balloon arch, free champagne, a free logo pie server with purchase - seems meh. Maybe I just can’t think of anything that could ever express my love for PJP in a way she deserves.
And don’t ask Jeanne for her opinion because if she’s not on the schedule, she’s at home binge watching Korean television dramas. I’m not even kidding. She could be the most ADHD person I’ve ever met in my life, so how she has the patience to read subtitled television for hours is literally beyond me. Also, I’ve never really known her to have a hobby but she can discuss Korean superstars with gusto matching TikTokers that follow Taylor Swift’s plane routes. So I guess if you watch a lot of those Korean dramas, please come see her and discuss the actors, the plots, and release dates for the fall season because I can’t keep up.
But I need her to focus because on April 13th, Ellery, Jeanne, and I are speaking at That’s What She Said. (As a side note, that date is Peg’s 98th birthday.). And as general, I’m in charge of the three of us and it’s like herding cats. Jeanne is more concerned about how the rehearsal schedule interrupts the Koreans and Elle is more concerned about what we are going to wear. I’m more concerned about how to keep us on track and on point for our allotted 20 minutes.
It is super good Jeanne doesn’t know how to watch television on her phone or she would try to sit on stage in front of hundreds of people and stream those shows right through her bluetooth to her hearing aid. No joke.
