My Heart Is Warm
Yesterday we announced our FIFTH Epic Pie Tasting, Pandemic Style…and it sold out in under 30 minutes. We are so happy this continues to be a popular event - so much so that we have some super fun ideas in mind for how to keep the at-home version an option, even once we all go back to normal (whatever that will eventually mean). Here’s some other interesting items of note:
Our Peach Praline pie was nominated for Best Dessert in the Inside Columbia Best of Columbia 2020 contest. We’ve won lots of accolades for our White Chocolate Strawberry and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pies, so this nomination came as a surprise. And good for Peach Praline, right? He is a true delight with all his covering of brown sugar, butter, and pecans.
We kept busy all day with shipping orders all over the United States, plus all sorts of people stopping by to pick up pies and gifts for Administrative Professional’s Day. You can shop our entire merchandise collection on our Instastories and DM for curbside pickup or delivery. Having a 14 year old social media maven who is out of school until August has been a total win for PJP.
Nothing compares to the fun we have on TikTok. Today we posted one about how my car automatically just goes to PJP no matter what. And that is the most true 15 second story of entrepreneurship you will ever watch. It’s also on Facebook and Instagram if you are curious.
Today, one of our employees delivered pies curbside to a customer and that customer tipped PJP $100 just because she wanted to “see us continue to survive as a small business during COVID-19”. And then she was just drove away. I have no idea how to find her and thank her, so I’m taking this space here to tell everyone that the kindness shown to us and our small business over the last month is ASTOUNDING.
And here’s another story for you…a few weeks ago, one of our customers emailed her ENTIRE neighborhood and let them choose whatever pies they wanted as a gift. Just because she and her husband are exceptionally nice people and small business owners themselves. Her whole neighborhood came home to hand delivered pies of their choice, including pot pies. And when they didn’t specify a baby pie or a nine-inch pie, the purchaser said to just assume a nine-inch pie. Not only was that a huge help to PJP, all the kindness behind it still makes my heart warm. There are so many things to love about PJP, but meeting people doing this sort of thing and watching all the joy it brings is on the top of the list.
