Oversaturated and UnInteresting
I wish I could tell you something interesting about our days at PJP lately, but really we only discuss Thanksgiving. I’m tired of listening to myself about it all.
That said, here’s a few items of marginal interest:
There’s no one happier about the Home Goods and Trader Joe’s coming to the Shoppes at Stadium than me. Obviously for self-centered shopping reasons, but also for bring-more-traffic-to-the-area-and-that’s-good-for-PJP reasons.
Ok, mostly for self-centered shopping reasons. Everyone knows the best way to approach Home Goods is with regular and consistent visits to find the best deals and that isn’t easy when the closest location is Jefferson City.
The same holds true for Nordstrom Rack but I’m not pushing my luck. And World Market. And Costco.
But on the south side of town, The Southern Rose and Rosebuds are closing their storefronts this month and moving to a fully online presence only. The news makes me sad, mainly because we share a lot of the same customers and it is comforting to know they are next door working crazy long retail hours while we are baking, especially at the holidays. Good neighbors are hard to find and we will miss MacKenzie and her team, but wish them all the best in their next era.
Please please please please please don’t let that space be taken over by a vape shop, a gym, a mattress store, an auto parts store, or any similar oversaturated but yet completely uninteresting venture. Or wait, no to a cell phone repair store also.
