Let's Do This...
Labor Day marks the unofficial end to summer. And if my Pinterest feed is any indication, a lot of people spent the day pinning 187 different ways to decorate with pumpkins and gourds in anticipation of fall. (And so so so many pins about making a month's worth of meals in one day and freezing them...is this the thing now? I really hope not, because I can't even really think beyond my coffee tomorrow...much less about making a pot roast that I'll freeze and then cook in my crockpot in three weeks.) All I can really say about fall is a) enough with the pumpkin spice everything, and 2) we've officially entered peak PJP pie season. Without question, this is our busiest time of year. I spent a little time looking at Square data today and noticed the sales trends that rise steadily as we approach year-end (and then nose dive in January...hate. January. so. much).
We are going to push ourselves in remarkable ways this fall and holiday season. More pies. More events. More throwing ourselves out there, starting with the Roots and Blues Festival in a few weeks. (And likely this will mean more whining about being tired, more overnight baking sessions, and more tears...I know). I have no idea if "more everything" is a good thing, but it seems like the right fit for our growth pattern. And learning to trust our intuition is a big piece of this entrepreneurial puzzle, right? Right. (And I'm only posting this here so some faithful reader can throw this back in my face in six weeks or so when I say "OOOOHHHHEEEEEMMMMGGGGEEEE...WE JUST CAN'T KEEP GOING.")
And here is where I might cut and paste in an inspirational quote on a sunset background from Pinterest. Except I'm avoiding 84 ways to cook and freeze pork, lest I start to feel more inadequate than I do regularly. So, I'll just leave you with this...
