Good To Go...
In the midst of all the holiday activity at PJP, here are a few small things worth mentioning...
- PJP t-shirts arrived yesterday, just in time for that one person on your Christmas list that is a #worldpiedomination devotee. I was content to simply fold them somewhat haphazardly, but Jeanne insisted upon MacGyvering up a way to fold them like they do in retail stores to make them perfect. (Spoiler alert: it involved a pie box). You can purchase one (sizes medium through XXL) at PJP Buttonwood. Sorry in advance if I see you out and about in town wearing your shirt and I squeal with excitement.
- Rezina, one of our daily 8 am - 2 pm employees, is almost eight months pregnant with her first child. And you know what doesn't pair well with eight months pregnant? Standing on concrete floors and baking all day. Her last day (at least until a few months after her baby is born) will be this Friday. We are seriously going to miss her as we head into this next few crazy weeks...but we are planning an epic baby shower for her in January (which may give me ONE reason to not hate on January).
- This has nothing to do with anything, but we've developed an addiction to Green Giant Veggie Tots. We are basically eating these for lunch at least twice a week. (Well, the first week it was more like five days in a row but that is a lot of tots.) In short, we bake up two bags of these delicious suckers and then we all share them. Well played, Jolly Green Giant, well played indeed. You can buy them in any grocery store freezer section except the Grindstone Hy-Vee because we've bought them all. We even asked our Sysco rep if we could purchase them in 30 pound boxes, but it seems the veggie tot market hasn't expanded to the mass quantity packaging. So sad.
- When not eating tots, we've been baking a lot of tarts for in-store purchasing and we sell out most days. That said, a lot of people stop by just to purchase the Jelly Jar pies. A friendly reminder...it is always best to call ahead for jars this time of year. They sell out quickly. Our last day for shipping for Christmas will be Tuesday, December 20th.
- And finally, we were alerted earlier today that our tart die press that we've been waiting forever for is finally finished and is ready to ship. I'm pretty sure it is a Christmas miracle. Now if I can just get Santa to bring us an additional can opener so I quit wasting my time always looking for one, I'll be good to go for 2017...
