Marginally Interesting...

It feels like I've been fully engaged in all things PJP for DAYS UPON END without a break, which is probably just how every business owner who participated in the Roots and Blues weekend feels right now.  On the eve of my 12th straight day at PJP, here is collection of marginally interesting items...

  1. We debuted a new pie this week...meet Almond Joy.  It is our standard chocolate cream filling, but with fresh coconut and almond extract mixed in.  Then the pie is topped with homemade whipped cream, toasted coconut, and chocolate sprinkles...and I were the president of the Hershey's candy bar division, I would be slightly concerned that PJP was coming for the market share.
  2. This pie is also noteworthy because it was my idea to add the coconut and almond extract and I NEVER have creative pie recipe ideas.  That's Jeanne's department, so I don't even know how it happened to me.  It's like that movie Freaky Friday, but the one with Jodie Foster and not the one with Lindsey Lohan.  Because OBVIOUSLY.
  3. Tickets for the October 26th pie tasting went on sale today.  Against my better judgment, we are officially "strongly recommending" a costume for the event.  Please bookmark this post for when you read about how I was in a panic in Joanne's at 4:30 in the afternoon on October 26th trying to cobble together some sort of costume that doesn't require much sewing, gluing, cutting, glittering, or taping...as I'm not good at any of those.
  4. A national publication contacted me via email this evening and asked for a high-resolution copy of a picture that is on our Facebook page so that it can be included in the print edition of the publication.  Except I originally took the photo with my iPhone, which is the most awkward "hey, we want to be a national brand" response ever to an important email.
  5. And this has nothing to do with anything, but here is my official shoutout to the Teddie's Rosehip oil.  It is this amazing oil for your face (made by a family owned small business who has never heard of me or PJP) and I've been using it every morning for a few weeks now (and of course, snail creaming at night).  And look, the five star reviews on Amazon DO NOT LIE...it is basically skincare perfection.  It's the only thing that has allowed me to look 100 years old as compared to 150 years old after all the work of the past 12 days.  Probably in high-resolution as well...
