Today we received an inbox full of Thanksgiving ordering questions. So let's break it all down with our...
Thanksgiving 2K17 Guide
Q: Can't you slow your roll and at least let Halloween pass before discussing Thanksgiving? A: Look, I would probably discuss Thanksgiving on Valentine's Day if someone asked me. Thanksgiving is the super bowl of pies and while I don't know a lot about football, I do know a lot about getting 1,000 pies out the door of PJP on the day before Thanksgiving.
Q: So Team PJP is excited and ready for Thanksgiving? A: Team PJP is cautiously optimistic about Thanksgiving. And by cautiously optimistic, I mean Team PJP knows what is ahead in the next few weeks and no one has turned in their two week notice.
Q: Tell me about frozen pies and already baked pies, please... A: We are offering pies two different ways this year. You may pre-order any fruit or nut pie from our menu in any size for pickup November 1st through November 18th as a frozen unbaked pie and receive 15% discount. Or if the thought of baking it yourself strikes fear in your heart, you can choose to pre-order and pick up your fully baked pie on the Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of Thanksgiving week.
Q: Will the frozen pies have instructions? A: Of course! We won't let you go rogue, though it isn't any harder than baking most frozen items you purchase at the grocery store. (It will taste better though and you'll be able to pronounce all the ingredients in our pies.)
Q: When is the last day to order pies? A: Wellllllll...it all depends on how many orders we receive. Our total last year was 1,081ish. I would like to see us try around 1,500 or so but I'm trying to keep that on the down low so Team PJP doesn't have a collective panic attack, so let's keep it just between us.
Q: Can I order online? A: HECK YES. Since I only actively talk on the phone to about five people in this world, online ordering is a must in #WorldPieDomination. I dream of a world of text ordering. Or push notifications when your pie is ready for pickup...now that is swoon worthy.
Q: Can I stop in and see you on the Friday after Thanksgiving to pick up some pies and chat? A: Short story: no. Long story: Team PJP (self included) is a busted up mess by 5:30 pm on Thanksgiving eve. We will be closed on Thanksgiving, Friday, and Saturday. Exhausted and surly pie bakers are never charming, so we will need a few days to put ourselves back together for the Christmas rush.
Q: Is this your favorite few weeks of the year? A: Probably. I know, I don't understand it either.
