Jeanne-ology: A Little Smug
Hi There - it’s already Thursday and Jeanne is here to share her thoughts on this week. I haven’t talked to her since this morning, so I’m just as curious as you to see what is on her mind! Enjoy! Rebecca

Hello Thursday Readers! Another week has passed. I did not go into PJP today, I just needed to rest. We are so short staffed at the shop that I’ve been baking more than I have in a long time. Rebecca shows up at the pie shop whether she is tired or achy or mentally exhausted. She never complains when I call and say that I am not coming in. She is endearing that way. (Rebecca editing to add: Ehhhh…I would say it is more that I’m obsessive about keeping my routine and I’m a micro-manager by nature and so it is easier just to go to PJP than not, if that makes sense.)
Our staff shortages will be even worse next week! Rebecca and my granddaughter planned to go to Atlanta gift market next week to shop for the new store on the west side of town. However, she has cancelled the trip due to the staff shortage. I feel bad about this because they have such a grand time and come back energized and full of ideas and that is always good for PJP. (Rebecca editing to add: I agree…it is a good opportunity to see new things and spark a little creativity. That said, there isn’t much we can do about the way the schedule for next week looks right now. It looks much better as we head into the end of the month, so that is good news. All people related to me by marriage and blood will be working at PJP next week. I guess the family that works together stays together?)
My biggest accomplishment today was fixing our dryer. My husband said “let’s call a repairman”, but I refused. Watching a video on YouTube help me determine the reason why the dryer did not turn on. I ordered a thermal fuse and it came in the mail today. Replaced the new thermal fuse with the old one and BINGO, the dryer is working fine. I guess I feel a little smug because we saved ourselves about $125 on repairs. I am always up for the challenge of fixing things. I can't do them all, but I usually give it a try before calling for help. (Rebecca editing to add: I would feel A LOT smug if I ordered a fuse on the Internet and fixed my dryer. SERIOUSLY SMUG. Never say never, but I would never watch a Youtube video about dryer repair and attempt it….primarily because I would lay in bed and obsess that I would cause a house fire that starts in the dryer. That’s endearing, right?)
Tomorrow I will be back in the pie shop. Having the laundry caught up and being rested has prepared my return. (Rebecca editing to add: She will be dispensing baking and small appliance repair advice all day tomorrow. Feel free to stop by.)
