Kismet
This morning, I spent a solid 30 minutes digging pie dough out of the crevices of my wedding ring with a toothpick…so that’s how the work/life balance is at PJP on a Monday. Thankfully we were super busy today, so I refocused my efforts. Here’s what else is going on lately:
I cancelled plans to attend Atlanta Gift Mart this week because we’ve been short staffed, but today I re-booked our trip for Thursday thru Sunday because if I don’t go, we will have no merchandise or merchandise displays for PJP West End this fall. It’s ironic because the store needs me here now, but the future sales in the two stores need me in Atlanta this week…so what’s a girl to do?
Our test shipment of a nine-inch Chocolate Bourbon Pie in our new collaboration with Goldbelly was a success - and that’s the first time we’ve been able to send a nine-inch pie across the United States without a pie disaster (pie-saster?). This week we are testing a nine-inch fruit pie and shipping it to New York, so finger crossed for us, Goldbelly, and all UPS personnel involved.
Speaking of collaboration, we are working on a super fun project with Logboat Brewing for this fall. We can’t say enough kind words about the Logboat team as we’ve been working on this project. Plus, when we were meeting at Logboat to discuss the details, my beloved Jason Isbell was on the sound system, so it felt like collaboration kismet.
We made a down payment on equipment for PJP West End for $21,465. And you are kidding yourself if you think that doesn’t make us ill.
And finally, I’ll be back in Columbia by noon on Sunday if Delta airlines doesn’t fail me. And that works out well because Jeanne and I are filming our first YouTube video on Sunday. We are starting with a series of tutorials with help from a local video producer and then who knows what sort of content we will develop…but don’t hold your breath for a croquembouche.
