Facelift
Well, unless you eschew all forms of social media, you know by now that we had a photoshoot yesterday at PJP Nifong. On our to-do this year is a minimally invasive facelift to our website - not a dramatic transformation, but a nice refresh since it has been two years. Again, we are working with our friends at Hoot Design to build upon what they’ve already created and our friends at Silverbox Photography for both headshots and pie shots.
So it sounds relatively easy and sort of fun, right? GAH. I’ll tell you that finding dresses and shoes worthy of professional photos is an undertaking. And in this refresh, we included my daughter because of her increasing role in our social media marketing. Jeanne and my daughter are basically the same person, so I’m always the odd one out. In short, this means they will spend HOURS looking at dresses and fabrics and patterns and shoes and earrings. My patience is about a fourth of their time requirement. But we can all agree on being fairly last minute with our projects, so this past Sunday afternoon was a last minute adventure.
We also wanted to be sure to include great photography our pot pies, quiche, Jeanne’s cookies, and some newer pies we’ve created. That all had to be at Silverbox yesterday at 9:30 so that they could be photographed while we headed off to hair and makeup. I’m completely not kidding when I say getting professional makeup done is one of my very favorite things ever. Beyond World Pie Domination, I would like to achieve the ability to always have top notch false eyelashes without the worry of burning to my eyes with oven heat. GOALS.
And after hair and makeup, we went back and changed into our new dresses in the storage room at PJP Nifong because we are very fancy that way. And then Annika arrived to take all sorts of great shots of our space and of us in our space. In general, it was a fun day. (For the record, my daughter insisted we remove our expensive makeup application and false lashes before bed. Jeanne kept hers but arrived with only one false lash this morning. Very on brand.)
We hope to have the updated site functional in the next month, but I’m just beyond anxious to see the pictures. Here’s one quick behind-the-scenes shot from Annika to tide us over…
