For Sure
Today we embarked upon a three day Jelly Jar journey that will eventually result in 400 jars arriving in offices over 1,000 miles away. We are working with a local organization to surprise almost 70 of their potential partners with Jelly Jar six packs. They dropped off their marketing inserts to be included in the boxes today and it was so cute that I could hardly stand it. When I finally left PJP Nifong late this afternoon, I actually pulled out behind the UPS truck that picked up the first wave of shipments and I thought “travel safely, little jars”.
Here’s what else is going on:
In a rare turn of events (and probably because it is spring break), there are a few tickets left for March’s Epic Pie Tasting this Thursday. Tickets can be purchased here. If you are here this week (like we are, just covering all the shifts of those off having fun this week), then this is the perfect activity.
PJP Nifong had a bi-annual health inspection today. I would wage almost anything that we have one of the cleanest kitchens in Columbia, but I still feel low key panic during an inspection. It gives the same vibe at the IRS, for whom I also find irrational and unfounded panic. (We passed with flying colors today though, so there is that.)
Though, that reminds me…our accountant is finishing our taxes and I’m always worried she will call and say the returns are ready and to bring a check for $85,000. Or $100,000. Or $5. It’s all the same panic.
In just a few weeks, we will celebrate our ninth birthday. NINE. Every year I think a milestone birthday will make me relax about the tenuous game of entrepreneurship, but it never does. At any rate, the poster Elle made to celebrate the occasion will be in the windows of both stores on Saturday and it is my favorite ever.
And finally, Jeanne’s twin sister and her family came to visit us this weekend. She brought along my cousin and his family, whom I haven’t seen in EIGHTEEN years. We got to give them tours of PJP and his youngest declared White Chocolate Strawberry to be the best pie he’s ever eaten in his life. We had the best time, so we are eternally thankful to Team PJP who all pitched in and covered both stores so our family of five was off on Saturday to entertain our extended family. It was a gift, for sure.
