In The Details

The most interesting thing about entrepreneurship - or at least about PJP - is that most days absolutely nothing happens that is particularly outstanding…but it is all the 1,000 small things where you find the details that make this so interesting. There’s never two identical days at PJP, even with two stores only three miles apart. So here’s the round up from today:

  1. We’ve struggled with consistent hot water at West - at least for the amount we need to run dozens of loads of dishes each day. The plumber stopped by today and discovered that the faucet was installed with a piece of plastic from the packaging still on it, like over where it attaches to the water pipe. He was surprised that we had any hot water at all. Go figure.

  2. We’ve had a rash of pie art requests. I was just looking at orders for tomorrow and someone would like an airplane on a coconut cream pie. Huh. I have no idea if that is remotely possible and even if it is, it won’t be by me. We have some seriously talented people on Team PJP thankfully, so it won’t surprise me if they create something amazing.

  3. In other news, our tomato plant growing out of the crack in the pavement behind Nifong is still growing strong. So there’s that.

  4. A few weeks ago, our favorite photographer, Annika at Silverbox Photography, stopped by to grab some shots of Jason to add to the PJP website. She sent the pictures back over late last week and they are 10/10, so on our to-do list is to add those and write a few words about Jason. Loves: Analytics. Hates: Chaos. It will literally write itself.

  5. She also picked up a four pack of tarts to photograph for the shipping page of our site and we are enamored. We’ve had this on our to-do list for almost a year and finally can check it off. I’m so happy our shipping page shows both the tarts and jars looking just as cute as they are in real life.
