Jeanne-ology: Love Language
It’s Thursday and as you might have noticed, we celebrated Jeanne’s birthday yesterday. Here’s her take on her week! - Rebecca

Hello Thursday Readers! I want to start this blog by saying a BIG THANK YOU for all the wonderful birthday wishes! Reading through everyone's comment sure made my day and was so kind of you to take the time to post those wishes! (Rebecca editing to add: She was super fussy regarding the photo I chose to celebrate her, but I happen to love that photo. She doesn’t know how to login to social media AND she does always think a hat is a good idea, so I stand by my choice.)
My twin sister did come to see me. She stayed two nights and we had the best time. Goodness, we couldn't cover enough subjects and we laughed so hard! She enjoyed seeing Rebecca and family and couldn't get over how beautiful my granddaughter is, nor how handsome and tall my grandson is. Of course, she had the whole family laughing within minutes with her antics. Time went by too quickly and wished she could have stayed longer. She hadn't been gone long enough to get out of our driveway and I was feeling sad. Hopefully, there will be a shorter time between our next visit. (Rebecca editing to add: Without question, Janie is one of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet. When I was little, I apparently told her all she did was “dust and fuss” and I’m not calling myself a child genius, BUT IT REALLY DESCRIBES THEM BOTH PERFECTLY.)
My granddaughter prepared a feast by creating a delicious and beautiful charcuterie board, hopefully Rebecca will insert a pic,. I ate so much that I nearly didn't have enough room for birthday cake. Of course, I managed to eat a large piece! (Rebecca editing to add: Of course, I’ll add a pic. You can find my daughter on Instagram with her side hustle @thatcharcuterie_chick - the entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t fall from the tree)
Rebecca and my granddaughter had bought a large, beautiful wooden swan when they went to market. I have been so jealous and asked her why didn't buy me one. She, in a matter of fact tone, said that happens when I stay home. Hmmmm, that was not a satisfactory answer for me. However, she redeemed herself and gave me what I really wanted, the wooden swan. I have secretly hoping that she had an extra swan hidden away for my birthday. (Rebecca editing to add: Her love language is large wooden animals for display in her house.)
She and the family had also ordered me a statue of a wooden horse. It hasn't arrived yet and I can't wait. The wooden swan was placed on my fireplace hearth, and I have a place chosen for the horse. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday! (Rebecca editing to add: See?)
I went to work today, after taking off a few days to visit with my sister. I was ready to get back in the grove of our pie business. This weekend is loaded down with a lot of huge orders. I felt a little weak kneed when Rebecca was telling me the amount of pies and tarts that are due. Oh well, no complaints, we are living the dream. (Rebecca editing to add: Maybe her horse will arrive tomorrow…though then she will head straight home to find him a spot in her house and eat leftover cake and admire her new additions. If UPS is reading this, a Monday delivery would work better for me. Thanks.)
