Love Them Like We Do
Let’s do a wrap up of all the things worth mentioning that somehow fell through the cracks of Thanksgiving…
Let’s start with a semi-spicy take: we need to stop recommending that Americans shop exclusively online for the holidays. I can name you 20 small businesses who would love for you to shop in their store and they would happily provide you with private shopping hours or provide contactless curbside pickup. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Plus, we need to stay open and busy…primarily because I significantly over purchased in the canned pumpkin department and none of it is returnable under current COVID guidance, so we have a lot of things to make. When I was in junior high math, I would skip all long and convoluted mathematical problems that started with “If a train leaves LA at noon and one leaves NYC at noon and they are both going 62 miles per hour, where will they cross paths?” because who really cares and I’m never planning to ride a cross-country train. Anyway, this is why I don’t have the skill set to order pumpkin for 700 pies. I accept all blame.
That said, really overestimating product need is MUCH. better than underestimating product need. I am going to start a Zoom series about the obvious parts of entrepreneurship. Thanks for coming to Lesson One.
I took a deep dive through the Internet to source another round of 1,000 Jelly Jars. Once I found them, I realized that I needed to make our annual order of our custom shipping box from my favorite Internet shipping box lady that I’ve never met: Sandy Cheeks. No joke. (Also, she claims I’m the first to explain the reference to Spongebob Squarepants when talking to her…but surely not, right?)
And finally, on Tuesday of Thanksgiving, we debuted our new custom pie bags. We have them in the size to accommodate three baby pies or the larger to accommodate up to four nine-inch pies. They can be recycled (if this town has any empty space for that sorta thing) and they are made in America. Most of all, they make us feel next-level fancy. We hope you love them as much as we do!
