She's Here For It.

Well, despite my disdain for January, we are moving along well into the first weeks of the new year and we couldn’t be more thankful. We’ve also had the bonus of extra time to work on the litany of items we basically ignored all fall when we were baking non-stop. I’m fairly certain Jeanne had never actually sat at her desk in our new office until this week. I set up a computer at her desk and armed her with her January to-do list and really, she would just like the Internet to be aware that SHE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MAC COMPUTERS. That she doesn’t have a mouse to navigate the world wide web makes her particularly salty, thank you very much.

Here’s the highlights of our week:

  1. I ordered another round of our shipping boxes and for the first time ever, I felt no novelty about a semi truck pulling up and unloading a pallet of 1,000 boxes. Remember that first delivery wherein we convinced the driver to let us set in the semi and honk the horn? That was a true highlight of 2015.

  2. We are working on some very early conversations with our Jelly Jar shipping box company to design for us a box that ships baby pies, by either the two-pack or the four-pack. PJP V. 1.0 did it back in the early days and we think it is time for a revival of sorts.

  3. We’ve been working on a plan for our visit to AtlantaMart late next week. Since we’ve been once and have an idea of how it all works, we are planning ahead with more intent about what products we want for the store. Sadly, that will all go by the wayside when we see something super cute that we never thought to include in the plan.

  4. Oh, and we’ve been interviewing people this week for Team PJP. We are hopeful to add several people so that we create a PJP Depth Chart and then the absence of one person doesn’t send the rest of us into a tailspin to cover the staff shortage. We’ve had one person start so far and she’s a delight, so we are optimistic.

  5. And finally, it was almost like our linen company knew that Jeanne had been nominated for Pastry Chef of the Year by Feast Magazine because that same day, they tried to sell Jeanne on chef’s jackets for us all instead of aprons. And you likely won’t be surprised but Jeanne LOVES a chef’s jacket (and hat). Sadly, they are .76 cents a week to launder and aprons are only .51 cents each to launder and we use A LOT of them, so we’ve always passed on the offer to upgrade. That said, I did say to Jeanne that if she wins in her Best Chef category, then I’ll get us all chef’s jackets as a celebration. She’s here for it…
