Sunrise, Sunset.
If you saw our Facebook post from earlier today, you already know that I was lucky enough to guest blog for Zapier - a GLOBAL company that facilitates workplace automation. And fun fact to know - Zapier was actually founded in Columbia in 2011. It is headquartered now in California and we feel very fortunate to share our thoughts on the entrepreneurial mindset to a vast readership. (That said, today I baked a lot, took out some trash, and did two loads of aprons and towels in our new laundry room because my life is very glamourous. That’s often the entrepreneurial mindset. Ahem.)
Here’s a catch up of what is coming up on our calendar:
So Saturday we are celebrating National Pi(e) Day with a $3.14 discount on each dessert pie - baby and nine-inch. I was contacted last week by a sweet journalism student writing an article and she noticed in our Facebook event that we called ourselves the national sponsor of National Pi(e) Day. She wanted to know how we landed that sponsorship and I readily informed her it was because I decided we were the national sponsor. She said that she didn’t know we could just do that. And maybe we can’t…but we did, because #worldpiedomination.
In looking ahead to next week, there are just a few tickets left for the St. Patrick’s Day mini pie tasting we are offering on the 17th. You’ll pick up six tarts (those are three inches each) and an answer key and we will make six new recipes and stay on the Irish theme. We’ve already got a list and I promise you won’t want to miss out. Purchase tickets here.
And let’s not forget about Easter on April 4th. Orders are already rolling in at a record pace with White Chocolate Strawberry and Lemon Meringue holding top spot. Easter and meringues are a mystery to me. In a day of candy hunting, whipped egg whites seem like a waste. I’m on Team Whipping Cream, but it looks like I’m outnumbered for that weekend.
Columbia Public Schools returns to a five day a week schedule on April 5th. This is sad for me because my teenagers have made PJP a 100% more interesting and functional place during their vastly bizarre last 12 months of education. In such an odd year, their presence has been one of the true bright spots. And also, did no one at CPS think about sending back to a full week after a holiday for the first time in a year? That Monday is going to be brutal for everyone involved. You heard it here first.
Next on our calendar is our SEVENTH birthday on April 17th. WHERE DOES TIME GO? Someone please ask Alexa to play Sunrise, Sunset. We have a major announcement to make on our birthday this year. Goodness, I’m TERRIBLE at secrets and this has been hard to stay quiet about, so I can’t wait.
