Time Will Tell

As we start to roll into our busiest two months of the year, we have a fully packed next few weeks. And while I should be second guessing most of my life choices right now, I’m at my best when I’m too busy to overthink. So let’s break it down, so we all know what’s going on:

  1. Today through November 9th, we are partnering with the Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital to help provide an amazing Thanksgiving holiday dinner to homeless veterans in mid-Missouri. When you check out with your purchases at PJP, you’ll be allowed to add a dollar (or more) to your total bill. We will make all the pies and donate all the money directly to the hospital for the homeless veterans fund. The response has already been astounding and we are so honored to be a part of such a fun partnership with a very real impact in our local area.

  2. Next Thursday, we are participating in the Holiday Mart in Jefferson City at the Capital Bluffs Event Center. We are super excited because we did the King’s Daughters Holiday event in Columbia in our earliest days, but it now typically falls on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving…and there is just no way to make that happen with our schedule. This Jefferson City event earlier in November works well for our schedule, plus we get to see so many of our Jefferson City friends. Tickets are still available at the link above (and I’ve seen the vendor map and I promise you won’t be disappointed - SO MUCH GOOD SHOPPING).

  3. And all next week, we are doing a super cool event with our friends at The Southern Rose. We developed a fun Bingo game that gives you the opportunity to do things at both PJP and TSR. Once you have a BINGO, you are entered to win some SERIOUSLY great prizes. Pick up your Bingo card late this week at either store, as all the fun starts on Monday, November 4th and runs for the entire week. And speaking of TSR, they dropped some epic news on their Facebook page earlier tonight and it is so exciting, so be sure to check it out.

  4. And obviously, the biggest item on our calendar for November is um, THANKSGIVING. We are well over 500 orders at this point and that is a bit beyond where we normally find ourselves at this point of the season. My biggest concern is all of our new customers who won’t know that Thanksgiving is some serious business at PJP and pre-ordering is a MUST. Here’s the form to secure your spot.

  5. And in the craziest decision we’ve made since doubling our square footage and opening in an entire new location…we are going to open the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The decision is really two-part: first, we get a lot of requests for pie pick up on Saturday for all of you doing a second round of Thanksgiving with more family and friends…and second, that Saturday is Small Business Saturday. We think we’re finally ready to be seated at the big kids table and join in on what is typically one of the largest sales days for small business of the entire year. Could be a total win…or could be totally crazy. TIME WILL TELL.
