Jeanne-ology: We Will Have To Wait
It’s Thursday and I was pretty surprised this evening when Jeanne texted me that she had emailed over the blog. When I reminded her around 1:30 this afternoon, she wanted to cut me. She rallies well around the dinner hour, so I knew she would come through for us all. Enjoy! Rebecca

Hello, Thursday Readers! How soon another week passes! I was able to take off Monday and Wednesday this week from PJP. I still managed to find enough tasks that need to be done at home. I guess I am saying that a day or two away from the shop does not mean getting to watch movies and sleep in late. (Rebecca editing to add: I would seriously bet you $1,000 that she watched something on Netflix on both Monday and Wednesday. Bet.)
Today I helped with some of the baking schedule. I also noticed that our sink was looking a little dingy. I couldn't wait to drag out the gallon of bleach we keep on hand. If you want to see everyone in the shop scatter, just bring out the bleach! (Rebecca editing to add: I buy bleach in bulk from our food broker. I never guessed I would be the sort of woman purchasing 12 gallons of bleach in one box.)
It is amazing how much cleaner and brighter the stainless steel sink looked when I was finished with a deep clean! I could hear complaining about the bleach odor and everyone avoided that area of the kitchen I was working in. (Rebecca editing to add: It smells like a pool when she gets on a cleaning rampage. But I would actually eat out of that sink by the time she’s cleaned it and rinsed it out. Not many food establishments can tout a sink like that.)
I hate to admit that I like the bleach odor. My family thinks I am a little crazy, but I know the odor means everything is very clean. I usually keep about three gallons of bleach at home. A gallon in the bathroom (I use it to clean the sinks, tub, shower and toilet). Another gallon in the laundry room for laundry, and another gallon in the kitchen for sanitizing counter tops and cleaning the garbage disposal. I clean our coffee pot once a week with bleach and all the coffee stains are gone! (Rebecca editing to add: As the PJP attorney, I would like to state that PJP does not endorse, encourage, or encourage any of these actions. She is crazy and what she does on her own time anyone’s guess. They do drink about 100 pots of coffee a week and they are both still alive, so I guess it works? Just in case, we hereby disclaim any liability from her choice to do this and share her ideas here.)
I have other uses for bleach, such as cleaning windows and floors. Actually, I could go on and on with other uses I have found for bleach, such as: treating poison ivy, adding a small splash of bleach to the water of a flower bouquet (they last longer), and cleaning garden tools (helps prevents rust) and spraying weeds to kill them. (Rebecca editing to add: AGAIN, proceed with caution. We make no warranties - express or implied -about the efficiency or safety of these decisions. We also aren’t liable if your flowers die. Though, I am considering trying it. Also, she owes me some flowers for acting as her legal representation in this bleach extravaganza of a post.)
The only drawback to using bleach is that any splatters will ruin your clothes. I have ruined many clothes by bleach splatters. I don't throw them away, they have become my bleach clothes to work in. Some of them look tie-dyed, who knew! (Rebecca editing to add: Luckily for her, tie-dye is back in style in a very big way.)
Someone recently told me that dipping your toes in a bleach and water mixture will kill any nail fungus. I don't have any problem with nail fungus but my husband does. However, I cannot convince him to try it. (Rebecca editing to add: This is more than I ever wanted to know about feet. Feet in bleach water sounds awful to me, but I suspicion she will wear him down. I guess we will have to wait another week to know.)
