5 Star Review

Well, for starters, Jeanne says thank you so much for all of the well wishes on her birthday. I had quite a few people stop by PJP and ask what she did to celebrate on Tuesday. (And you best believe, she took the day off and watched Gunsmoke. No joke.) She came over for dinner on Monday evening and we gifted her with the Bissell Crosswave, which is a vacuum AND an electric mop in one. It became TikTok famous and sold out everywhere, so when I saw it go back in stock on Amazon, I snapped it up. Jeanne now reports it is the greatest household item she’s ever owned. And considering how no nonsense Jeanne is about things that really matter - like cleaning products - that’s a notable review.

Here’s what else is going on:

  1. You might have noticed the picture of Jeanne on social media earlier this week was exceptionally lovely. That was taken by Silverbox Photography a few weeks ago as part of our website refresh project. We are super excited to share more images over the next few weeks.

  2. If you want to know what isn’t lovely, that’s getting my two kids started in online school this week at CPS. My oldest one is working at home and my youngest one is working in my office because we are in a pandemic and nothing makes sense any longer. I know we all have different feelings about online school and the only thing I can say with certainty is that just listening to Algebra I online makes me SO HAPPY that I’m not a freshman in high school.

  3. So high schoolers follow the bell schedule, which means she is in-seat from 8:55 am to 4:05 pm. Anna on Team PJP presented her with an adorable lunch served on a styrofoam lunch tray with dividers, so it felt like an in-school experience. Minus spending the day on a computer in a pie shop. Ahem. But the thoughtfulness is just another part of what makes Team PJP exceptional.

  4. We finally accomplished a major goal for the fall season: hiring a regularly scheduled dishwasher. He started yesterday and I’m going to give the whole idea a solid 10/10 stars. It is a solid win for efficiency in the PJP kitchen.

  5. And efficiency is good, because we’ve never made and sold more chicken pot pie ever than in the last month. Working faster on our dessert pie schedule clears up an earlier start on our savory pie schedule and that means more pot pie availability. Which will be good after this image hits the Internet (SO BEAUTIFUL!):
