I'll Go From There...
Now that another Thanksgiving is in the record books, let’s talk about all the other things going on:
We have 8,000 tarts due in the next 10 days.
No, I’m not even kidding.
But I do have a rough outline in my head about how we are going to make it happen.
That still doesn’t mean I’m not anxious about it…because that is SO MANY tarts, plus a regularly operating storefront busy with holiday orders.
Oh, and there’s a second storefront on the west side of town that desperately needs my attention and affection.
Let’s talk about that second store for a second, because the burning question is WHEN WILL IT OPEN? And goodness, I couldn’t even begin to guess. The plumber finished his work today, so we are waiting for :
The tile work to be done - PJP West End will feature the beautiful tile we have in PJP Nifong, but in two interior locations.
The woodwork needs to be added to the walls and the cash wrap needs to be finished.
The equipment needs to be wired into the wall.
The floor is getting a sand coat on the floor so it is less car dealership and more retail storefront. (Don’t quote me on the term “sand coat” - I literally am guessing at what the construction manager called it. All I know is that after it is applied, I won’t be able to lean over and check my makeup in the floor’s reflection.
Oh, and the space needs to be decorated and stocked with all of our baking needs.
So your guess is as good as mine about the timeline over the next few weeks. I’m going to start with the 8,000 tarts, study up on sand coating, and I’ll go from there…
