Jeanne-ology: It's Not Wednesday
Jeanne just surprised me by sending me a blog post for tonight since I’m on vacation. She thought today was Wednesday, so she was a day ahead for her regular post. I’ll happily take it. Enjoy! Rebecca

Hello Wednesday Readers! A day earlier, I know, Rebecca and family are away on vacation. A much needed vacation for Rebecca. So I am the head boss this week! I can be the boss for a week, but more than willing to turn everything over back to Rebecca. Getting to the shop by 7:30 am to get the baking schedules and inventory done is exhausting. Geez, I don't have enough time to drink a cup of coffee before I am out the door! (Rebecca editing to add: She’s always the head boss, she just refuses to acknowledge it.)
This week has been slower than usual, which is not good for sales…but good for me. I am much slower on the computer and it takes me considerable time to do inventory and baking list. Our staff has been super supportive, then I found out they are all on MawMaw patrol. Evidently, Rebecca made it clear to watch me and make sure that I don't climb any ladders, lift any heavy objects, remind me of anything that I may have missed on logging in pie orders and blah, blah, blah! I think she thinks that I will do something wild, sometimes I do, and she wants to make sure I don't go off on a tangent! (Rebecca editing to add: In my defense, this would be the week she would decide to climb a ladder to take down all the ceiling tiles and deep clean them and then climb a ladder again and replace them, all the while accepting no help.)
I do miss her terribly and the clock seems to tick, tick slowly. My granddaughter does all the merchandising and Rebecca takes care of managing our staff and making sure things get done. I am trying to fill Rebecca's shoes, but totally ignore the merchandising aspect. That can wait until my granddaughter returns. (Rebecca editing to add: We’ve been in some super cute stores this week on our getaway so I feel like our Director of Merchandising has some fresh inspiration.)
Tomorrow is shipping day and I hope I remember how to print out shipping labels. Rebecca gave me a quick lesson and I took notes. If I can't manage it, I will interrupt her vacation and do a quick panic call for help. Maybe I should call her for a panic situation and tell her to come home now! (Rebecca editing to add: Thank goodness for FaceTime. I bet I’ll be the first person ever to coach someone through making UPS labels from the beachfront.)
