Jeanne-ology: No Return Policy

Hi There - Today it’s Thursday, though yesterday Jeanne emailed me her Jeanne-ology series because she was certain YESTERDAY was Thursday. But whatever, I happy to share it here today. Enjoy!

Hello Thursday Readers! Goodness another week has passed! Where did it go? It seems the older I become, the weeks just fly by. I hope that I am not the only one that feels this way at times. (Rebecca editing to add: Especially when you think Wednesday is Thursday. Ahem.)

My twin sister is due to come this Friday. I won't believe she will come until I see her in my driveway! She always has good intentions but at the last minute, she will cancel. I do hope she comes. Our birthday is on the 8th of September and I haven't seen her in three years. We always have a good time together. Although we speak frequently on the phone, a in person visit is the best! We, no doubt, will laugh, cry and have a good time. So my fingers are crossed. She will want to see the pie shop and I am anxious for her to meet our staff. Although we are not identical, we have many identical mannerisms. She was always the tom boy and our mother would dress us alike until high school. The days I chose our outfits, I would choose dresses. The day she chose, it was pants and a shirt. So, in essence, one of us was miserable every other day! That seems so funny now. Over the years we have become very close and accept our differences with a shrug. She is the only family I have left, my parents and a brother have long since passed. (Rebecca editing to add: I really hope that she does come for a visit. She’s definitely an interesting person, and I promise a picture if she does, just so you can see their similarities for yourself!

I was not at the shop today. My husband had appointment at the VA hospital. He needs cataract surgery. Hopefully, his eyesight will improve a lot. We also have an appointment for him to get some hearing aids. On the way home, I told him my birthday gift would be him able to see and hear! Right now, I repeat everything twice or three times before he understands what I am saying. Also, I could walk into a room completely naked and he would not notice! (Rebecca editing to add: Welp, that is a lot of information. But since I’ve been outside her house and be able to hear television, I’m completely on board with these scheduled appointments.)

On the way home from the VA, I stopped by the new shop and met with Rebecca and Jason and our contractors. Wow, the construction is nearly done and I was amazed how much is finished! Rebecca told me that we will accept possession on Sept. 8th! My birthday! When we moved in our current location, the same date, Sept. 8th, was the day we moved in. Kinda weird, isn't it? I look at this as a good omen, this new shop will be as productive as our current location. I am a little concerned how it will all work out, but know that it will. I believe in our future. I know you will help support us. I thank you for this opportunity! (Rebecca editing to add: Apparently, we are getting her a second location for her birthday. I hope she likes it because there is no return policy.)
