See The Issue?

On Saturday morning, we had a Zoom call with our group of MBA students for this semester. (They are working on inventorying solutions for us and we are super excited. We do one of these projects on a regular basis and are always immensely thankful for the hard work from the students.). And all that aside, that Zoom called started and I couldn’t even focus because MY UNDER EYE CIRCLES WERE EPIC ON CAMERA. I completely looked like someone who has owned two stores for almost a month. Gah.

So whatever. Under eye circles are to be expected at this point in the process, honestly.

Here’s what else is going on:

  1. We are one week from National Pi(e) Day. And do you know what I realized today? The spring forward time change is next Sunday. How are we still doing this?

  2. I’m never putting a PJP in a location that doesn’t have a grocery store less than 100 yards away again. On the last two Mondays, I’ve had to go get bananas for West End because we needed them before our food supplier arrived. But if I order two cases of bananas at once, they all go bad before we can use them. See the issue?

  3. Our refurbished pie press at West is having some mechanical issues, requiring Jason to use a paintbrush to slather hydraulic oil on parts of it while the pie press guy was on the phone yelling directions. Of all the things Jason anticipated at PJP, I’m guessing “hydraulic oil slathering” wasn’t on the list.

  4. And we have a lot of tarts to stamp because we are doing pie tasting from both stores for the first time ever this month. We are starting with a St. Patrick’s Day pie tasting, which we did last year and it was super fun. It’s a smaller tasting of six flavors instead of 12 because we are working on a theme. Just a few tickets remain for either location.

  5. Finally, just when I think I’ve dealt with every strange situation possible, a woman came barreling through the front doors of West on Thursday afternoon and yelled: “I’M DENNIS QUAID!!!” Huh. Well she bought a lot of stuff, so we are happy to count Dennis Quaid among our customer list.
